Name: Michaela Doherty Position: Secretary
My name is Michaela Doherty and I’m currently the ASCE
Secretary! I enjoy compiling the 80 page annual reports, and making the fliers
and announcements for general events and meetings. My favorite ASCE activity
was going to PSWRC in Hawaii last year, where I went parasailing, snorkeling,
and hula dancing! When I’m not working with ASCE I’m busy being a junior at
Arizona State University, pursuing a general civil engineering degree. I also
work at an after school program where I’m in charge of 50+ kindergarten to 2nd
graders. I’m hoping to participate in more ASCE events during the PSWRC
conference in Las Vegas, and in the future I want to be an imagineer for
Disney!
Frederick is
completing the Civil Engineering B.S.E. program in the School of Sustainable
Engineering and the Built Environment along with a minor in Urban Planning and
will graduate in December 2011. He has been a student member of ASCE since 2006
and is actively involved with the ASU ASCE Steel Bridge Team, AzSCE Water
Resources Technical Committee (WRTC), Environmental Water Resources Institute
(EWRI) and is a member of the National Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi
Epsilon. Frederick is also a student worker for the Office of the University
Architect and a researcher for the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative,
and currently conducts undergraduate research for CAP LTER through the department
of engineering in the College of Technology and Innovation at ASU. He attended
PSWRC last year and will be leading many outreach projects through ASCE this
year. Feel free to ask questions as he loves to discuss everything engineering
and ASCE related.
I’m going to set the record
straight here. First of all, the
rumors you may have heard are true.
I do, in fact, eat Portland cement and drink admixtures. Every so often I’ll throw some
aggregate in there, for texture. I
live to make canoes out of concrete, and to do it better than anybody has ever
done before. If you want to make
canoes with me, shoot me an email at asuconcretecanoe@gmail.com. You could even give me a call, or shoot
me a text, and we could chat about your possible contribution to this noble
cause. I can show you the way…

Social Offer
Senior
This will be my fourth year being an Offer, and my second
year as Social Chair. This year I have plans to host Tailgates and Volunteering
at homecoming. ASCE is a great place to meet Civil upperclassmen, work on
topics your studying in class, or help navigating college. See you in Noble and
GO DEVILS !!
I
am starting my fourth year of college and third year at ASU and will be
graduating in December 2011. I only recently started getting involved with ASCE
last semester with the paddling team and I went to PSWRC in Las Vegas. Best
decision ever! This is my first semester being an officer and I am looking
forward to making this year’s conference just as good as and better than last
year. So if you are interested, feel free to ask me any questions you have
about conference or ASCE in general.
